Since the Expo, I've been painting in new and different ways. It took me two weeks to get all the product I bought put away because every time I'd attempt to put stuff away, I would start painting some more fun experimental stuff!
Does this happen to you or is it just me? Any horizontal surface in my studio attracts paper products; papers, sketchpads, books, magazines, newsletters, receipts, notes, you name it. As I attempt to shelve books, or file papers, I start reading! After shoving stuff from one pile to another I finally got serious by throwing trash away and moving stuff around, and in between the painting and the reading, the place finally looks tidy!
This past weekend I had the privilege of presenting awards to the winners of the Burbank Art Association Member Show. The artwork is great as there are so many talented folks in our club. The Creative Art Center Gallery is a marvelous space, and the reception was very well attended.
Next weekend on November 19th, I will be holding an Open Studio in conjunction with "Holiday in the Park," an annual local event in which most of the businesses for many blocks are open late, and filled with holiday cheer. There are musical groups, and many other special entertainments. It is a huge event and I have much to do to get ready. Today I was working on my inventory list. How exciting!! I expect some of my artwork to find new homes soon!
