My old PC computer bit the dust about the same time and I decided to enter the creative world of the Mac. What a completely different machine. It comes with the power to do a multitude of creative things that I am excited to be able to do with ease and professionalism. However, one does have to learn how to access these delightful applications! Thank God for the Apple Store. I purchases the One to One classes and I highly recommend it. For one year I am able to attend any and all workshops offered at any Apple store and schedule appointments to meet one to one with an Apple expert to get personalized help. After a short time of fumbling on my own, I am now taking advantage of these courses weekly.
This past weekend I took an amazing workshop about the Art of Selling Art with art rep, Margaret Danielak, author of "A Gallery Without Walls" and the gracious figurative artist, Julie Snyder. This workshop was cram packed with incredibly useful information and I totally enjoyed meeting both of these generously talented women as well as becoming aware of the other artists who attended.
This was such a positive and uplifting workshop. It really is wonderful to realize that selling art is just another kind of work. It can be done, there is no magic to it. It seems to boil down to determination, focus, and consistency. Being passionate enough about one's art to do the research, be prepared, and be open to all opportunities which get it into the eyes, hands, and hearts of viewers who can then become collectors.
So much to do! I'm off to take an Apple class on Iphoto, then work in the studio. Learning, learning, learning!
