I'm not going to write a long list of what I have been doing since my last blog post. Suffice it to say that I've been doing stuff. Important stuff like dental work and pursuing the actual nuts and bolts of having a legitimate business. Stuff that I've been putting off because it is uncomfortable and scary.
Exciting things have happened also, like gaining full and private access to the bathroom and adjoining space that completes the corner of my studio, and changes the whole dynamic of the space. Like learning about public art, grant opportunities, and arts advocacy at the Arts Tune Up in Pasadena. Like having Margaret Danielak come to visit me in my studio and give me personalized recommendations.
I love pursuing art full time. There is so much to learn, do, and share. One cannot escape problems in life but it is great to have problems that involve the things that one deems important. Writing a blog is not really a problem, but it is a responsibility and something one has to actually do, because the thought does not count when it comes to blogging.
Do I dare make a commitment? Can I say, I promise to write a blog everyday? no way. every week? seems pretty likely. twice a week? we'll see. As Bart Simpson says, "I can't promise I'll try, but I'll try to try."
