I do have a piece at Towns Burr Gallery in their Small Wonders Exhibit. Over 50 artists and 91 pieces of artwork are gracefully arranged in this marvelous little show. The reception was well attended and several pieces have sold already.
That show ends on the day I hang another one. Fellow Burbank Art Association member, Claudio del Carril and I are sharing the Geo Gallery during the month of October. Claudio calls his work Unique and Unexplainable and describes Dali as an influence. His style is very distinctive and I marvel at that. I'm not sure that the body of work that I will display even looks like it's done by the same person!
Force of Nature is what I'm calling it. Don't expect landscapes. Many pieces are inspired by the crazy weather I've witnessed through the media, and all are related by nature's influence. Some have shown up in previous blog posts and a few are On The Easel. Most need to be photographed.
Right now I have 18 pieces gathered in the little tote shown below. There are two other small canvases 12 x 16 each that may be included that are not shown. All the rest are either 8 x 10 or 5 x7, and one 5 x 5 in frames.
One more piece of exhibit news and then I'm done. Open Call LA 2011 runs through Sunday, September 25th at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. I am so pleased to have been included in a show with such tremendous regional talent.
September has been a busy month, and I haven't even mentioned the first Burbank Art Association meeting or what is going on at my house! That will just have to wait though because now I'm done.
