Expo!

This weekend the Learning and Product Expo: Art! is in Pasadena.  I am having a blast!  On Thursday I took an all day class with Rheni Tauchid, author of one my all time favorite books on acrylic, "New Acrylics Essential Sourcebook." Rheni is so amazingly knowledgeable about the nuts and bolts of acrylic and is able to explain it in an extremely accessible way.  Her family owns Tri-Art, makers of fine quality acrylic products. I had another class with her today and both classes were chock full of information and it is super fun to explore new products and techniques.

I enjoy attending the expo because of the great learning opportunities.  There are a huge variety of classes, free demo's, and deals, deals, deals!  Having all the vendors there who are able to explain their products as well as sell them at discount is very valuable.  Today I was given the information I thought I would receive in my very first painting class.  The Princeton brush representative walked me through all the brushes I had questions about and patiently explained them to me.

I am excited that several vendor representatives are willing to do demonstrations for the Burbank Art Association. Duho Studios, the makers of incredibly beautiful fine art panels, is willing for ME to do a demo with their products! They are a local company and I'm looking forward to exploring that possibility.

Tomorrow is the last day and I have one more class with an artist I greatly admire.  I took an art marketing class from Robert Burridge and his wife Kate last night and I am looking forward to his class on color and light in the morning.

There is so much to learn and so many creative people to enjoy and appreciate!  Being an artist is such a joyful experience! Woo Hoo!
