I am a 47 year old woman, and as such, it seems, I am going through "the change." I am thankful to be brought to the realization that the roller coaster ride of moods that I am enduring is most likely due to of the ebb and flow of hormones in my body. I am delighted by the assurance that this is just a phase (like the opposite of puberty!) I will pass through it and become stronger for it.
I only mention this because for the past many weeks my life has been greatly affected. My work, my family, and most definitely my attitude have suffered. Some days I'm up and get things done, other days I'm down and do the bare minimum possible. I am fortunate to be able to take the time to coddle myself. However, due to the number of feeling down days I've been experiencing, I am behind on many things on my "to do" list. Blogging for example!
Something that I did do recently was participate in the Glendale 6th Annual Open Studio Tour. The pictures above are from that day. Obviously I'm not at my studio. I was one of the many non Glendale artists who were invited to share their work. I was in the park with about a dozen other artists. It was a beautiful day. My tent was in the shade the whole day and a light breeze kept it cool. I had a lovely view of beautiful trees that I enjoyed painting plein aire. It was an opportunity to get out of the studio and meet some people.
Above are a few of the things I'm working on in the studio... Below are a few I've completed.
