The point I'm making is that rejection is part of my artistic reality and many others, but it is not going to stop me. Not winning awards is quite common, but I've still got to show. Paying to be rejected sucks, but it happens. Not as frequently as it used to because I'm more selective about from what I am potentially going to be rejected--like Artsy Shark. Oh well, I was invited to have my website listed on the "Links to Art We Love" page and that is a nice consolation, and I appreciate it.
I'm not discouraged and I don't mean to sound glum. Attempting new things is exciting! Even when the chance of success is slim to none. It helps. The more things I attempt, the more people know I exist. It is one step and then another all the way. This is the journey, this is moving forward, this is success. I'm an artist and I love it!
PS The center picture above is my attempt to paint Frida Kahlo with my new Inktense pencils and water brush while I watched the movie about her life.
