Originally I had intended to exhibit some of the individual drawings and pages, but after much consideration I decided to keep the sketchpads intact. They will be available to view at the reception only, on Friday, November 15th from 7-9pm.
I briefly toyed with printing a few of the drawings on acrylic skins, but my first attempt with that could be considered a failure or put nicely, a learning experience. (As I attached the skin to a canvas panel with paint and a catalyst tool, I wiped the image completely off the skin.) Considering my lack of time and space to experiment, I quickly decided against pursuing that option for this show.
"I recently had a showing of my artwork at a local gallery and every piece sold! It was exhilarating! People loved it beyond my best expectation. Not everyone understood it, but those who did (or enjoy the mystery) wanted to take it home with them and gladly paid me for it. They wanted the artwork in their personal space so that they could look at it daily and let it nourish their soul. I sold work that wasn't even in the show! People became fans and followers, eagerly exploring what I've done previously and curious about what I'll do next. It was extremely validating and rewarding."
Woo Hoo!! On with the show!
