This past week I finished up the final few paintings for my upcoming show. Yesterday, my son and I hung the paintings with 3M Command Picture Hanging Strips since we could not put nail holes in the walls. I was surprised and delighted at how easy they were to use and how well they seem to work! It was quite a relief to have the artwork out of the studio and hanging. It is thrilling to know they are being admired already!
The opening of the show is next Wednesday, October 21st as a part of the One Year Anniversary Celebration of the Inner Movement Wellness Center located at 1218 E. Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205. From 6-9pm there will be great food, beautiful art, and a variety of healing therapies to experience. It is also my one year anniversary of being back in California. This year has been quite a healing journey for me. One that is revealed in the artwork on display. Most of the artwork was done this year with a few from past years to provide history.
I guess it would also be good to mention that I will be making a donation of 20% of the sales from this event to the Glendale Firefighters and Family Assistance Fund.
Even more incentive to make sales!
Tomorrow begins my weekend of art immersion! I will be attending seven classes at the Learning and Product Expo: Art! in Pasadena. All the classes have to do with acrylic processes and color application. I am excited to be learning about the tools of my trade. I realized that I haven't taken an art class in more than twenty years. Wow, it is about time to get back at it! I hope I'm a sponge, so I can take it all in, then squeeze it all out in my own way into my artwork.
