Number one is that the unusual things seem to be completely delaying the normal things I do, such as blogging. Usually I get my blog posted on Wednesday and here it is Friday AND tonight is the reception for Memories & Ritual!!
If you are a local person, I do hope that you will stop in to the Geo Gallery and visit. The reception starts at 7pm in the lobby of the two story building at 1545 Victory Blvd. in Glendale, CA. There is a parking lot at the rear of the building.
This is the first time that I've had an evening reception at the Geo Gallery, so I didn't realize how dark it is in the hallway where most of my work is. Thankfully my showmate, Jeanny Sandoval, is great at solving problems in a tactful way, so we have figured out the lighting dilemma. Now it will be brightly beautiful!
This is also the first time I've ever had artwork stolen! Last weekend one of the small paintings disappeared along with the title card which includes my contact information. I continue to hold out hope that the over eager collector will contact me with a payment.
However, it does make me feel that I've reached a new level in my art career!
I've taken the blank spot on the wall as an opportunity to fill it with another piece. This time I was able to frame a print of a drawing or two from my sketchpads. Revealing the link to the daily work that started the whole idea of Ritual.
It is said, and I completely believe. that God works in mysterious ways and that is the underlying theme of this body of work: the daily acknowledgement of the mystery and wonder that makes life exciting!
