When I first began painting, I would often make drawing after drawing of the subject matter and then make a painting. I was interested in the Holy Grail, it's stories and symbology, and have many drawn images of grails from the 1980's, including the one below.
Yesterday I sorted through some totes that are filled with artwork and other inspiring things. I found a treasure trove of work from the 1980's. Rather than just a Throw Back Thursday, I may post old drawings for a while. Today we have a piece that reminds me of theatre masks. My significant other was working in live theatre during the 1980's and I watched many shows over and over again.
Here's an old one from the 80's when I first began painting. I reached back into my coloring book roots, drew black paint lines and colored them in. This one happened to look like Buddha when I finished.

Daily Offeringa project of showing artwork 6 days a week that lasted from January until June, 2014. In July it became sporadic, and as you can see August 1st is the last entry. It was a fun project, one I may repeat again in the future. Please enjoy scrolling through the artwork. Below are a few responses: "It's fun to see your art on a daily basis." ~ Charles Zembillas “I enjoy getting these, Lisa. This one (Marked) inspired me to do something similar.” ~Sharon Dellamarie "Very, very, very nice." ~Bruce Burr Archives
