Started during the demo at the Burbank Art Association meeting last Wednesday, finished over the weekend.
A painting from the 1980's found new life in 2005...
This is another one of those paintings that's appearance is dependent on the light because parts of it are glossy and and some parts are metallic paint. It is a combination of acrylic paint products and applications built up in layers. What is it? I don't know. It is mysterious. As I hold the painting in my hands, there are parts that seem to call for more paint and other parts that look like a being with wings and it all asks to be touched. There are pretty parts and not so pretty parts. Now that I think about it, I may have posted this 14 x 11 painting on panel a bit prematurely...
Here's one for Throwback Thursday, from 2007
This piece is the first one that I dared to smear matte gel over. I also incised some marks into the gel. They are barely visible in the photo. It is likely I will try this again...
a project of showing artwork 6 days a week that lasted from January until June, 2014. In July it became sporadic, and as you can see August 1st is the last entry. It was a fun project, one I may repeat again in the future. Please enjoy scrolling through the artwork.
Below are a few responses:
